Buying used rental cars

Posted on December 2nd, 2010 No Comments

Buying used rental cars can have many pros and cons and if you are considering buying one, it is important to be familiar with all of them.

One positive aspect is that rental cars tend to be only  a few years old and have received scheduled maintenance and inspections. Another pro is that the manufacturer’s warranty is transferable to the second owner.

One con is that rental cars can gain a lot of miles quickly, some cars gaining 20,000 miles in the first year. Also, because the renters do not own these cars, some drive them less carefully then they would there own car. For example, they may not slow down before hitting a pot hole. Also, many rental cars are not equipped with extra features that drivers may look for such as leather or heated seats.

Used car sales boom in slow economy

Posted on July 21st, 2010 No Comments

Although it is a slow economy, the used-car market has seen an increase in sales.

Auto Nation has reported a 23 percent revenue increase in used car sales in the first three months of 2010. There are many factors that may play into the increase of used car sales, but one may be the unemployment rate that has caused some people to open their eyes to a new way to purchase a vehicle.

A downside that can be seen in a situation like this is that dealers are having trouble finding cars because they are in a high demand.

If you are looking for a used car for a great price or looking to trade in a vehicle, browse our combined inventory at Chapman auto sales.
